Well, our cat came home and is recovering from a nasty, destroy-one-appetite-problem, which is why I will not discuss it here. But we celebrated by spending time with our feline and inviting my mom over for some of the French Onion soup. This time, I used a big wedge of my rye/wheat sourdough to prop up the cheese (Since I didn’t lay it over the bowl like I used to do when workint at the French Cafe in college, the cheese just sank into the soup. Still tasty, but no nice bubbly crust.)
Mom liked it. J liked it. And I ate Momofuku broth with soba noodles, carrots, scallions, and turnips (which were a gift from a colleague, from her last CSA share of produce).
J is getting big.
